The Great Internal Debate: My Organs vs. My Cravings

The Dysfunctional Democracy of My Body

Every time I eat, a war erupts inside me. A civil war. It’s not about nutrition—it’s a power struggle. My stomach, the exhausted frontline soldier, pleads for mercy. My liver, the bitter corporate employee, writes resignation letters daily. My heart is that old loyal friend who keeps showing up even when I don’t deserve him.

And then there’s The Cynic Upstairs—sitting in its grand armchair, sipping imaginary whiskey, watching the disaster unfold with an amused smirk. It doesn’t stop me. It doesn’t want to stop me. It enjoys the show.

Cynic Upstairs: “Oh, here we go again. This should be good.”

Chapter 1: The Great Fried Food Fiasco

Me: Ah, a plate of steaming hot bhajiyas with extra chutney and a tall glass of cola. Perfect.

Stomach: groans “Oh wonderful, here comes another deep-fried crime scene. Let me just prepare for war.”

Liver: “Why even pretend you care? You said ‘clean eating’ starts today. But of course, by ‘clean’ you meant ‘cleaning out the fridge of anything deep-fried.’”

Brain (The Cynic Upstairs): leans back “Honestly, I respect his consistency. The self-delusion? Impeccable.

Heart: “I don’t even care anymore. Just wake me up when we get to the heartburn stage.”

Intestines: “Ah, I see fiber is not on today’s menu. Very well. Expect consequences.”

Me: “Guys, calm down. It’s just one meal.”

Cynic Upstairs: laughs “Ah yes, one meal. Like the ‘one meal’ from yesterday? And the day before? And last week? We’re on a 31-year streak of ‘one meal.’”

Chapter 2: The Alcohol Conundrum

Me: Pours a neat whiskey, swirls it dramatically, takes a slow sip “Ah, smooth.”

Liver: screams “IT’S HAPPENING AGAIN. SOMEBODY HELP!”

Stomach: “Excuse me, what is this liquid fire? Were we attacked?”

Brain (The Cynic Upstairs): chuckling “Oh, this is going to be fun. Watch this—he’s about to make a ‘wise’ life decision.”

Heart: “Fantastic. Prepare for dehydration, midnight regrets, and unnecessary text messages.”

Me: grinning “Oh come on, this is a 12-year-old single malt!”

Cynic Upstairs: laughs harder “Oh, I’m sorry—did you say 12 years? Because that’s how long your liver has been crying for help.

Brain: “No worries, he’ll ‘detox’ tomorrow by drinking two glasses of water. That’s how biology works, right?”

Chapter 3: The Healthy Day That No One Trusts

Me: Eating a bowl of salad with green tea “See, I can be responsible.”

Stomach: suspicious “Wait… are we actually safe today?”

Liver: “Is this a joke? Blink twice if you’re in distress.”

Brain (The Cynic Upstairs): popping imaginary popcorn “Oh, this is adorable. He thinks one healthy meal cancels out the 400 crimes against nutrition from this month.”

Intestines: “Wow. Fiber. I… I don’t know what to say. It’s been so long.”

Heart: “Is this another one of those ‘new lifestyle’ phases? Should I expect a pizza relapse by dinner?

Me: “Guys, just have some faith!”

Cynic Upstairs: smirks “Faith? Oh, sweet child, the only thing we believe in is your inevitable failure.

Chapter 4: The Sweet Disaster

Me: Biting into a rich, creamy chocolate cake “Mmm, heaven!”

Pancreas: spits out coffee “EXCUSE ME?!”

Brain: “Ah yes, sugar. Nature’s way of giving you 15 minutes of happiness before you crash into a coma.

Stomach: “Right. So we’re just ignoring self-respect today?”

Liver: “I’m too tired for this. You deal with it, Pancreas.”

Pancreas: crying “Why am I even here?”

Me: “It’s dark chocolate. It’s healthy!”

Cynic Upstairs: howling with laughter “Oh, this is gold. He’s actually lying to himself in real-time.”

Chapter 5: Midnight Munchies – The Final Betrayal

Me: Opens fridge at 2 AM “Just a small snack.”

Stomach: throws a chair “ARE YOU SERIOUS RIGHT NOW?!”

Liver: lying face-down “I am begging you to stop.”

Heart: “You know what? Do it. Just end us already.”

Brain: eating imaginary popcorn “This is the best self-destruction arc I’ve ever seen.”

Me: Munches on cold pizza “I regret nothing.”

Cynic Upstairs: “Oh, you will.”

Epilogue: The Cycle Continues

Every day, the same war. My cravings win, my organs suffer, and The Cynic Upstairs?

It just sits back, laughs, and waits for the next disaster.

Me: yawning “Tomorrow, I’ll be better.”

Cynic Upstairs: leans in “Oh, honey. We both know that’s a lie.

Final Thought:
I am not a human.
I am a walking, talking nutritional crime scene.

And my brain?
It’s just here for the entertainment. 😏
